MILWAUKEE - Senior Jamie Mueller become the third Marquette volleyball student-athlete named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll in 2006 after recording a 37.0 hitting percentage and 57 kills in helping to lead the Golden Eagles to a 3-0 record this past week, as announced by the conference office, Monday afternoon.
The outside hitter tallied nine kills in a 3-0 victory over Wis.-Green Bay, Oct. 24, added 10 more in a 3-0 defeat of Rutgers, Oct. 27, and then against Villanova, Oct. 29, recorded a Marquette record 38 kills to go along with 14 digs for her 19th double-double of the season. Mueller also hit 45.9 percent in the match against the Wildcats.
In 24 matches for Marquette (13-11, 8-3), the senior ranks second on the team and is fifth in the BIG EAST with a 4.11 K/G average. Mueller also leads the team and is fifth in the conference, averaging 4.63 D/G.
Marquette returns to action with a four-match winning streak, when it hosts Connecticut (16-9, 5-5), Nov. 3, on senior day at 7 p.m., before challenging St. John's (25-1, 10-0), Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
