Men's Tennis in Midwest Regional Rankings

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Marquette men's tennis team of Brett Binkley and Mark Rutherford are ranked twelfth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Midwest Doubles Rankings.
The duo posted a 10-1 fall record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional where they lost to Ohio State's duo of Drew Eberly and Justin Kronauge.
Binkley, a junior out of Lenexa, Kansas, tallied a 17-17 singles record in 2005-06, leading the team with the most victories. He earned a 20-13 doubles record and was 9-6 when teaming up with Pete Van Lieshout.
Rutherford, a freshman out of Calgary, Alberta joins the team with an impressive resume. He was ranked 6th in doubles and 8th in singles as a Canadian Junior. His older brother Scott played tennis at Wisconsin while sister Leanne played at the University of Michigan.
Brian Hung and Matko Maravic of Michigan are ranked one in the poll, while the BIG EAST teams of Ryan Keckley and Sheeva Parbhu of Notre Dame and Slavko Radman and Damar Johnson of Louisville round out the top three.
The Golden Eagles will open their 2007 season at Michigan on January 20.
