MILWAUKEE - Stan Anderson was named to the Top Assistant Coaches list of 2006 by College Soccer News. The list honors the 20 best assistants as chosen by the news service.
In 2006, Anderson spent his first season at Marquette after spending 10 years at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In his first season at Marquette, he helped start the turnaround under first-year Marquette head coach Louis Bennett, under whom he served as an assistant at UWM.
Anderson's selection marks the third straight season in which he's been listed by the service as a top assistant.
"Louis and I have been together a long time -- long before we started coaching in college together. He sets a great tone on and off the field and allows me a quality level of freedom to get the job done," Anderson said. "Receiving a nod from College Soccer News is great, but when you have people at Marquette on both the athletic side and academic side helping me the way they do, it makes my job a lot easier."
At Marquette, Anderson's on-field duties include serving as the goalkeeper coach. Off-the-field, Anderson is responsible for recruiting, travel coordinator and community relations.
In addition to serving as the associate head coach for Marquette soccer, Anderson is also a Wisconsin ODP head coach for the `90 Wisconsin state team.
