MILWAUKEE - Senior Jamie Mueller and junior Kimberley Todd were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I All-Northeast Region Team, Wednesday, as announced by the AVCA. The outside hitters join 10 other on the team and become the first student-athletes in program history to be named to an AVCA all-region team.
"The recognition of Jamie (Mueller) and Kim (Todd) reflects MU volleyball and the accomplishments of past players," said head coach Pati Rolf. "They put themselves in position to be two of the finest players in the region and it's an honor for them to be named. It's a great day for both of them and their team."
Mueller concluded her career as one of the greatest Golden Eagle volleyball players to ever step onto the floor. Following the regular season, she was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and was the only unanimous selection after ranking fourth in the conference with 4.10 kills per game and eighth with 4.46 digs per game. Mueller also made her scratch in the record book, setting MU records for digs in a season (517) and digs in a career (1,587), while finishing with the four-most attacks (1,219) in a season and fifth most kills in a season (476). Against Pacific, Sept. 8, Mueller set a BIG EAST and Golden Eagle record for digs in a match with 41, and then against Villanova, Oct. 29, she set a conference and university record with 38 kills in a match. She also leaves Marquette ninth all-time with 1,021 kills and is the only student-athlete in university history to reach the 1,000-kill and 1,000-dig marks. Mueller was a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection this season and was named to the Marquette Challenge and Duke Invitational all-tournament teams.

Theresa Coughlin (2003) and Sarah Vernon (2004) were the only two volleyball players ever to be honored by the AVCA before Todd and Mueller, when they were named to the AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention team.
Both Todd and Mueller are in contention to be named AVCA All-Americans. The teams will be announced Friday, December 15.
