Courtney, Peller Achieve NCAA Provisional Qualifiers

This afternoon at the Alex Wilson Invitational, held on the campus of Notre Dame, Michaela Courtney and Cassie Peller both achieved provisional qualifying times in the mile for next weekend's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Nationals will be held at the Randal Tyson Track & Field Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Courtney finished third overall in the race, besting her personal-best and school record with a 4:43.07 clocking - good for 15th on the national list. Peller finished fifth, crossing the line in 4:46.00.
"It was a very exciting race and and an exciting weekend for our track team." said head coach Dave Uhrich. "It is a good way to end the indoor season and hopefully we'll be able to have Michaela and Cassie compete in Arkansas next weekend. For Michaela to run that fast a time as a sophomore is certainly an achievement and this is a starting point for the outdoor season coming up."
