Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's soccer team, still very much in the mix for a berth in the upcoming league tournament, begins a key stretch of the 2007 campaign Saturday night when the squad hosts Georgetown in BIG EAST play at Valley Fields.
The opening whistle is scheduled for 7 p.m. and marks the beginning of a stretch that sees MU play four of its remaining five regular season contests at home. Three of those matchups in Milwaukee come against divisional opponents (Georgetown, West Virginia, Pittsburgh).
The Golden Eagles currently own seventh place in the division and must finish among the top six to advance to the BIG EAST Championship. The Hoyas are three points ahead in the standings and an MU victory would award the Golden Eagles the tiebreaker should the two programs complete the regular season deadlocked in points.
Marquette, fresh off a 1-1 draw at Wisconsin Wednesday night, will be looking to carry some momentum into Saturday-night's matchup. Both of the squad's victories this season have come at Valley Fields.
Sophomore forward Nick Kay netted the team's lone goal at UW and now leads the team with three markers in 2007.
