MILWAUKEE - Two Marquette women's soccer players were honored for their hard work and dedication on the field as well as in the classroom Thursday as senior forward Christy Zwolski and goalkeeper Laura Boyer were named to the CoSIDA and ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Five First Team. The pair was two of 20 players from the BIG EAST Conference.
"Congrats to Laura and Christy," said head coach Markus Roeders. "Over the years, they have proven that they are among the best and brightest. They have combined academic and athletic success and we are very proud of them. Our players do an exceptional job when it comes to being student-athletes and they consistently strive to be the best they can be on and off the field."
Boyer, majoring in finance with overall grade-point average of 3.72, has posted 54 saves on the season, a career high nine shutouts and goals against average of 0.83 ranking her eighth in the BIG EAST.
