Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's tennis team will be represented by three student-athletes at the 2007 Texas Invitational this weekend and the trio will participate in both singles and doubles action.
Senior Brett Binkley, junior Stephen Shao and sophomore Mark Rutherford will make the trip to Austin and competition is slated to begin on Friday morning.
"This is a good opportunity for the guys in the middle of our lineup to face some top competition," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "I am hopeful each player will take advantage of the opportunity presented."
All three Golden Eagles are entered in the singles draw and Binkley and Rutherford will team up for doubles play.
Shao will face Brent Werbeck of Boise State in the round of 32, while Rutherford takes on Boris Barrios of St. Edward's in the round of 64. Binkley is matched up with Nenad Maric of UT-San Antonio in the Flight "B" bracket.
The MU tandem of Binkley and Rutherford will face Ball State duo Bret Berryman and Shaun Bussert in main draw action.
