Track & Field Concludes Weekend at Oshkosh Open

OSHKOSH, WIS. - The Marquette men's and women's track & field team completed a long weekend of competition, Saturday, at the Oshkosh Open in Oshkosh, Wis. Junior Jenna Mahaffey registered three top-five finishes on the day, placing third in the discus (152-11), fourth in the shot put (41-9.25) and fifth in the hammer (156-10).
Freshman Kelly Magennis finished third in the javelin with a toss of 124-10 and was followed by teammate Amy Stoniecki (93-11).
Freshman Rachael Thiel placed second in the shot put with a toss of 44-1.25.
Sophomore Audra Ketelsen placed fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 147-8.
In the men's discus, senior Damian Anisko finished fifth with a toss of 158-11. He also finished third in the hammer throw with a toss of 172-8.
Senior Zach Pawlowski tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing 15-1.
Also competing on Saturday was senior Tommy Schmitz. He followed up his record-setting performance in the 1,500m on Friday by running the 800m in a time of 1:54.50.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Naperville, Ill., May 17-18, for the North Central Invitational and one final shot at qualifying for the NCAA Mideast Regional.
