Marquette Hosts Rival No. 23/22 DePaul Saturday

The Marquette women's basketball team will face its third ranked opponent in as many games Saturday when BIG EAST rival No. 23/22 DePaul pays a visit to the Al McGuire Center. The game will tip-off at 1 p.m., live regionally on BIG?EAST Regional Sports Network and locally on Time Warner Sports Ch. 32.
Steve True and Kareeda Chones-Aguam will be courtside calling all of the action. The game can also be heard on ESPN Radio 1510 Days/1290 Nights, with Kent Sommerfeld and Moya Baylis on the call.

The Golden Eagles (9-7, 1-2 BIG EAST) are looking for a win after consecutive losses to Rutgers (65-61) and at West Virginia (68-63). Marquette has played in eight games this season that have been decided by five or less points, the most of any school in the BIG EAST.
DePaul will bring its high-octane offense of 83.3 ppg which ranks second in the BIG EAST and third in the nation. Its offense is bolstered by three players in double figures led by Allie Quigley with 18.7 ppg. Meg Deirdre Naughton follows with 14.9 ppg, and Natasha Williams with 12.1 ppg. Williams has also been dominant on the glass pulling down a team best 7.4 rpg.
Marquette is 19-28 all-time against the Blue Demons in a series that began in 1978. Marquette has won four of the last six games, including an 82-79 win in Chicago last season. The Golden Eagles stand 13-8 all-time when playing at home, and 2-1 in the Al McGuire Center. Head coach Terri Mitchell and DePaul head coach Doug Bruno have met 24 times since 1996 with Bruno holding the slight edge, 13-11.
