WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Marquette women's basketball took a break from the rigors of practice, games and travel to spend some time Monday afternoon at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. At Children's Hospital the team played with children in their play area, visited patients in their rooms and organized and distributed gifts at the "North Pole." The visit on Monday marked just one of many projects with Golden Eagles are involved in within the community. Marquette will continue its partnership with Children's in the coming months.
Other upcoming community involvement includes Big Brothers Big Sisters of Milwaukee and Marquette's fourth-annual "Pink Out" on Sunday, Feb. 15. The "Pink Out" is part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "Pink Zone" initiative to help raise breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
