Ellis Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE - Junior guard Krystal Ellis was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll announced by conference officials Monday.
Ellis averaged 26.5 points on 50 percent shooting for the week and added seven steals and seven assists. She scored 23 points at Louisville highlighted by four 3FGs, and led all scorers with 30 points at USF. Her 30 points marked the fourth time this season Ellis had scored 30 or more points.
It is Ellis' fourth conference weekly honor of the season and third honor roll selection. She previously was named player of the week on Nov. 19, and earned honor roll recognition on Jan. 7 and Dec. 3.
Joining Ellis on the honor roll were Tina Charles (Connecticut), Nicole Michael (Syracuse), Allie Quigley (DePaul) and Kia Vaughn (Rutgers).
Louisville's Angel McCoughtry was named player of the week and Connecticut rookie Maya Moore was named freshman of the week.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when they host Georgetown at the Al McGuire Center. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
