Golden Eagles Host Green Bay Wednesday Night

MILWAUKEE - Taking a break from BIG EAST Conference action, the Marquette University women's volleyball squad will welcome Green Bay to the Al McGuire Center for a rare Wednesday 7 p.m. tilt. Live stats for the match will be available via GameTracker on GoMarquette.com, while live audio will be available courtesy of Marquette Radio (WMUR).
Sunday afternoon, the Golden Eagles (13-9, 3-5 BIG EAST) fell to USF in a five-set match after defeating Georgetown Friday evening before a record crowd of 4,000 fans at the Al McGuire Center.
MU has been led by the stellar play of sophomore Ashley Beyer who has posted double-digit kills in nine of the last 10 matches. Against USF, Beyer recorded a match-high 20 kills with six digs and two service aces.
The Phoenix currently sit at 7-14 overall and 3-7 in Horizon League play. Green Bay is led by two players who average over three kills per set in seniors Holly Visser (3.14) and Nikki Hintze (3.09).
Marquette is 25-9 all-time against the Phoenix, including a 3-1 victory in the last meeting on Sept. 13, 2009 in the Marquette Challenge.
Wednesday's night is Faculty and Staff Night at the Al McGuire Center. All faculty and staff with Marquette identification gain free admission to the match.
