Women's Tennis Completes Play at Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Marquette women's tennis team completed play the Wolverine Invitational Sunday afternoon at Varsity Courts on the campus of the University of Michigan. Chelsea Utting, Gillian Hush and Olga Fischer were all victorious during the final day of competition.
Utting earned the Golden Eagles lone singles win of the day in the form of a three-set thriller, 7-5, 2-6, 6-0, over Michigan State's Olga Chernova. Fischer and Hush were also in action in the singles competition, but fell 7-5, 6-1, and 6-4, 6-2, respectively to their Purdue counterparts.
Marquette had two doubles team in action Sunday with Hush and Fischer holding on for a 9-8 win over Kari Wig and Taylor Fournier.
The Golden Eagles will close out the fall season at the ITA Midwest Region Championship Oct. 21-24.
