MILWAUKEE - Join women's basketball head coach Terri Mitchell in creating the first endowment for women's basketball. Mitchell has initiated an endowed scholarship solely for women's basketball as it was announced before friends and family at the women's basketball "Tee It Up for Hoops" golf outing on June 15. Over $44,000.00 has already been raised for this endowment.
Increasing and sustaining scholarship aid is an important priority at Marquette University. Endowed athletic scholarships are essential in order to perpetually provide opportunities for student-athletes to achieve their academic and athletic goals.
An endowed scholarship provides a lasting stream of income because Marquette holds the gift in perpetuity, investing the principal and using a portion of the annual return to fund scholarship awards. This provides permanent income for scholarship support while increasing the endowment value.
Ways to contribute to the endowed women's basketball scholarship include cash gifts, pledges - that can be made over five years, gifts of stock, life insurance or estate plans.
