MU is undefeated in two previous exhibition matches this preseason, including a 1-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater last Saturday and Tuesday's convincing 4-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Kentucky will be the Golden Eagles' lone NCAA Division I opponent prior to next week's regular season opener at Valley Fields on Sept. 1. While Kentucky is a member of the Southeastern Conference, its men's soccer program is a member of Conference USA.
Marquette defeated the Wildcats 4-2 last year in preseason action. MU's first score was an own goal by Kentucky. Defender Scott Miller, forward Chris Madsen and midfielder Anthony Selvaggi also tallied goals for MU.
The Wildcats defeated Dayton 2-1 in a preseason match earlier this week and are coming off an international friendly last evening in Memphis, Tenn., versus Brazilian side Botofogo U19's.
