MACOMB, Ill. -- The Marquette University men's soccer team will travel to Western Illinois for its first road match of the 2010 regular season Sunday for a 5 p.m. CT non-conference tilt against the Leathernecks.
Marquette (0-1-0) will also be looking for its first win after falling 4-2 to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the season opener this past Wednesday at Valley Fields. WIU (1-0-1) is two games into the campaign after opening with a 1-0 decision over SIU-Edwardsville and last night battling DePaul to a 1-1 draw.
MU has won four straight games against the Leathernecks, although the all-time series is currently tied at 5-5-0. It has been some time since the two squads have been on the same pitch, however, as their last meeting was back in 1993, resulting in a 3-1 victory for the Golden Eagles.
