Marquette Opens Play At Northwestern Wildcat Invitational

The Marquette University men's tennis team opened play at the 2011 Wildcat Invitational Friday with singles and doubles action in five different flights.
Senior Jonathan Schwerin picked up a win in the Flight B draw, posting a hard-fought 7-6, 7-6 victory over Iowa's Mitch Beckert. Freshman Cameron Tehrani also remained alive in the Flight C bracket, downing Ben Brocker of Toledo.
The Golden Eagles return to the court at 8 a.m. on Saturday with main draw and consolation bracket competition.
