MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Following a spirited send-off from the Al McGuire Center Wednesday afternoon, the Marquette women's volleyball team took part in an open practice Thursday at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Golden Eagles used their 90 minutes of on-court time Thursday going through drills and scouting reports in addition to a Bond Shymansky post-practice team challenge. Players and staff members gathered on an upper balcony in the west end zone to test their accuracy and hand-eye coordination. Juniors Julie Jeziorowski, Casey Read and Jackie Kocken were the lone team members to accomplish the feat.
Marquette (27-6) kicks off action in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship Friday at 4:30 p.m. against No. 21 Creighton (28-3).
