The Marquette University men's tennis team wrapped up play at the 2012 Purdue Invitational with main draw action.
A trio of Golden Eagles entered Saturday having advanced in the top two main draws, but unfortunately each player's run ended in quarterfinal play. Zach Mueck of Xavier dropped MU's Dan Mamalat 7-5, 6-4 and Michael Tenzer of Green Bay did the same to sophomore Cameron Tehrani, 6-2, 6-0 in the Flight A bracket.
Sophomore James Stark was defeated by Phil Diaz of Xavier in Flight B action, falling 6-2, 7-6. Classmate David Packowitz dropped a tough matchup in the consolation draw, dropping a decision to Toledo's Bryant Dudzik (5-7, 6-2, 10-4).
Marquette's doubles tandem of Mamalat and Packowitz was forced to withdraw from the main draw because of injury.
The Golden Eagles return to action next weekend at the Ball State Invitational (Sept. 28-30) and the ITA All-American (Sept. 29-Oct. 1).
