SAAC 2012-13 Year in Review

The 2012-13 academic year was one of tremendous accomplishment for Marquette's chapter of SAAC. The Golden Eagles were active throughout the Marquette and Milwaukee communities throughout the year, highlighted by men's soccer player Bryan Ciesiulka's Feed My Starving Children Initative, which raised over $22,000 and compiled 100,000 meals for hungry children around the globe.

Jan. 20, 2013 - Marquette University student-athletes and athletic department staff gathered at the Alumni Memorial Union on Sunday afternoon to help hand-pack 100,000 meals for hungry children all over the world.
Student-Athletes Attend APPLE Conference in Indianapolis
Feb. 5, 2013 - Marquette University student-athletes Jake Richard, Anna Muzika, Catherine Mayer, and John Mau attended the APPLE Conference in Indianapolis, Ind., on Jan. 25-27, joining representatives from 75 other institutions across NCAA Division I, II, and III.

April 10, 2013 - Marquette student-athletes stepped away from the comfort of their sports on Tuesday night and participated in a "So You Think You've Got Talent" competition at the Al McGuire Center. The event was hosted by the Marquette Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the first time in an effort to celebrate National Student-Athlete Day for the Golden Eagles.
Danielle Carlson Honored with SAAC's Cura Personalis Award

April 29, 2013 - Danielle Carlson of women's volleyball earned the Cura Personalis Award from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Carlson led the women's volleyball team to its first two NCAA Championship appearances in program history, while becoming the first two-time AVCA All-American at Marquette and the team's first Academic All-American since 1996.
Division of Student Affairs Recognizes Three Student-Athletes
June 5, 2013 - The Marquette University Division of Student Affairs recently recognized students for leadership and involvement in all areas of student life. Three MU student-athletes were presented with a 2012-2013 Leadership Award.
Lauren Tibbs Participates in BIG EAST Conference SAAC Service Project
Oct. 8, 2012 - Redshirt freshman Lauren Tibbs of the Marquette University women's basketball team joined with other members of the BIG EAST Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) on Sept. 29 in Providence, R.I., to participate in a community service project with Hugs for Heros, Inc.
