MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team (1-3) returns home to host the Milwaukee Panthers, Wednesday evening for a 7 p.m. Central time tilt at the Al McGuire Center. The game will be aired live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
The Golden Eagles look to the comforts of home to help them get back on track after dropping a pair of contests to ACC foes Wake Forest and Duke. In the first of its back-to-back road tilts, Marquette fell to Wake Forest, 89-77. After trailing by just six at the break, MU was unable to adjust and again ended up losing the second half battle by six points as well. Senior sharp shooter Arlesia Morse poured in a team-high 26 points and added a team-high nine boards. Morse converted on a game-high for 3-pointers while hitting 12 of 14 from the free throw line.
After its contest against Wake Forest, Marquette traveled down Tobacco Road for a matchup at No. 7 Duke. The Golden Eagles fell 83-51 to the Blue Devils and were led by Morse again in points with 17 and rebounds with seven.
Morse earned a BIG EAST Honor Roll nod for her play last week. She is averaging 18.3 points per game, which ranks third in the conference.
Milwaukee enters Wednesday's game 1-2 and has dropped two straight since it defeated North Dakota State in its season opener. In their most recent outing the Panthers fell 60-50 to Bowling Green at home. The Panthers are paced by Ashley Green who averages 29.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
Following Wednesday's game the Golden Eagles will host South Dakota on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. CT.
