KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Marquette University women's tennis squad played in the first day of competition at the WMU Super Challenge hosted by Western Michigan on Friday afternoon.
KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Marquette University women's tennis squad played in the first day of competition at the WMU Super Challenge hosted by Western Michigan on Friday afternoon.
Ana Pimienta and Erin Gebes teamed up for doubles once again and earned a 6-1 victory over their opponents from Indiana. The duo also defeated Ashby and Eristavi from host WMU, 6-1, in the second round.
In singles play, Ali Dawson defeated Barbare Eristavi from WMU in the silver flight, 6-1, 6-3. Paula Tormos earned a singles win in the Sorensen Flight as she defeated the Broncos' Ono, 6-3, 6-4.
The tournament is being held on WMU's indoor courts and will resume play on Saturday morning.
