The Marquette University men's tennis team (3-3) dropped a tough 4-3 loss at Princeton (3-0) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles will wrap up their weekend road swing at Penn on Sunday morning. Marquette opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point, winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. At No. 3, which decided the point, five match points were needed before the MU duo of Nick Dykema and Cameron Tehrani claimed the 6-5 decision.
Singles victories by senior Dan Mamalat at No. 2 and Tehrani would give Marquette a 3-2 advantage, but the team was unable to find a fourth point for the team victory. Princeton's Augie Bloom rallied at No. 5 over Dykema in the third set to claim the final point of the match.
