
Marquette Falls, 7-0, at No. 41 Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--The Marquette women's tennis team (10-9) concluded its weekend road trip at No. 41 Memphis on Sunday afternoon and fell, 7-0, to the Tigers at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
The Golden Eagles fell behind early dropping two doubles matches, while the No. 2 flight featuring senior Rocio Diaz and sophomore Erin Gebes went unfinished after Memphis clinched the first point in the No. 1 and No. 3 flights.
Gebes challenged Caroline Wegner in the No. 2 position during singles action forcing extra sets before falling, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Junior Ali Dawson forced a third set in the No. 3 slot against Marta Morga, but fell in the match 0-6, 6-4, 3-6. On the No. 1 court, junior Ana Pimienta fought hard before dropping a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Skylar Kuykendall.
The Golden Eagles will conclude their home schedule at Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Friday, April 11 as they host a doubleheader. First serve begins at 11 a.m. Central time against Cincinnati and the day's action will conclude at 5 p.m. CT when MU hosts Chicago State.
