
Marquette Opens Play At Purdue Invitational

TOURNAMENT DRAWS
The Marquette University men's tennis team opened play at the 2014 Purdue Fall Invitational Tournament Friday with competition in both singles and doubles.
The Golden Eagles have at least one player represented in five of the seven singles draws and feature one tandem in each of the three doubles flights.
The busy day of action included a doubles victory by sophomore Kristiyan Trukov and freshman Andre Romanello over their opponents from Valparaiso and Romanello also earned a tough three-set victory in Flight D action.
MU saw several players come up on the short end of tiebreaker decisions in several flights, but the individuals remain alive in consolation action.
The three-day, 19-team event continues Saturday morning. All matches are being played at the Schwartz Tennis Center and Cumberland Tennis Courts in West Lafayette, Ind.
