
Marquette Set to Face Richmond Sunday

MIAMI-Fresh off its first victory of the season, the Marquette women's basketball team will face Richmond in the FIU Turkey Slam Championship on Sunday at 11 a.m. Central time.
The Golden Eagles (1-4) tallied a season-best 95 points in a win over the host Panthers, led by a career-best 24 points from Allazia Blockton. Blockton's career day led five Golden Eagles in double figures as Danielle King tallied 17, followed by McKayla Yentz with 14 and Erika Davenport and Natisha Hiedeman with 11 and 10 points, respectively. All but Hiedeman recorded career-high scoring totals as Marquette had nine players reach the scoring column and outscored FIU's bench 25-7 in the win.
Richmond (5-0) remained undefeated with a 63-50 victory over Wichita State on Friday. The Spiders were led by Micaela Parson with a career-high 20 points to lead all scorers on 7-12 shooting, 5-6 from the free throw line and 1-4 from deep while adding three assists and grabbing four rebounds. Richmond is holding opponents to under 62 points in each of its contests this season.
Following Sunday's contest, Marquette will return home for the first time since Nov. 16. The Golden Eagles host No. 7/7 Oregon State on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. CT live on FS1.
