LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Marquette University women's volleyball redshirt freshman Taylor Louis has been named to the AVCA All-East Coach Region team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Louis had a record-breaking year for Marquette. She set a single-season program record with 611 kills, the first Marquette player in history to reach the 600-kill plateau, and averaged 4.93 kills in 2015 to help lead the Golden Eagles to their fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Her 1,604 total attacks was a single season record as well as her 4.93 kills per set average, which ranked fifth in the NCAA.
The Skokie, Illinois native recorded a career-best 30 kills in a win at Missouri State on Sept. 5 and she recorded 20-or-more kills in 13 matches this season. Louis was a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection and was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team.
Louis will now advance to the AVCA All-American ballot following her selection to all-region.
Marquette finished the season with a 22-12 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship before falling to No. 2 seed Minnesota.
