
Women's Tennis Concludes Regular Season Play

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's tennis team will return to action this weekend after a nearly two week break.
The Golden Eagles will host No. 37 DePaul on Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m. Central time and Seton Hall on Sunday, April 19 at 9 a.m. CT at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
In its last time out MU (10-9) fell to Florida Gulf Coast 5-2. Freshman Paula Tormos Sanchez won her singles match, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at the No. 5 position, while Vanessa Foltinger claimed her victory on the No. 6 court 6-1, 6-3.
No. 37 DePaul (16-4) hosted Butler and Providence in a doubleheader last Saturday. DThe Blue Demons defeated Butler 6-1 and swept Providence 7-0. Yuliya Shupenia has won a team best 26 matches this season with just five losses, while freshman Patricia Lancranjan is close behind with a record of 22-12.
Seton Hall (7-9) comes in having won four of six despite a recent falter vs. St. John's. The Pirates fell to the Red Storm 7-0 in its final home match of the season. In singles, No. 1 Hanna Liljekvist defeated her opponent (6-2, 3-6, 10-5), forcing three sets, after dropping the second set.
Sunday's match up against Seton Hall will be senior day for Foltinger, Ali Dawson, Ana Pimienta. Free Dunkin' Donuts and coffee will be available for all attendees along with a Fitbit giveaway for students.
