
Marquette Opens BIG EAST Play at Villanova

The Marquette University women's basketball team travels to Villanova for its BIG EAST Conference lidlifter on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. Central time.
The Golden Eagles tip-off their 12th season of BIG EAST action live on the BIG EAST Digital Network, which can also be viewed locally on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
MU compiled a 9-2 record in non-conference action, which is the best start to the season since the 2013-14 campaign. Sophomore Allazia Blockton leads Marquette and the league with 17.4 points per game, while Natisha Hiedeman averages 14.2 points and Erika Davenport 13.5 points per game to rank eighth and 11th, respectively. Davenport is just shy of averaging a double-double adding 9.8 rebounds per game and has recorded a league-best seven double-doubles this season.
Villanova owns a 4-5 record heading into league action and is led by Alex Louin at 13.3 points per game, while Adrianna Hahn ranks 16th in the BIG EAST with 12,0 points per contest.
Villanova owns a 9-8 record in the all-time series with the Golden Eagles after picking up both victories last season.
Following Wednesday's game Marquette heads to Georgetown to take on the Hoyas on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. CT on BEDN and Fox Sports Wisconsin.
