
MU Claims Fourth-Straight, 5-2 At Toledo

The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-5) posted a 5-2 non-conference victory over Toledo (7-10) Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles, who are in the midst of a six-match road swing, have now claimed four-straight victories. MU returns to action on March 20 when the team travels to SMU.
MU opened the match by claiming a hard-fought doubles points. The Rockets claimed the No. 1 position and after Marquette responded with a win at No. 2 the duo of junior Kristiyan Trukov and freshman Greg Anderson secured the point with a 7-5 decision at No. 3.
The bottom of the Golden Eagles' singles lineup collected the three victories necessary for the team victory thanks to straight-set wins. Junior Mackenzie Stearns, Trukov and Anderson all made quick work of their respective opponents.
Freshman Alvaro Verdu also earned a win at the No. 2 spot.
