Tremendous Turnout for 2016 Backyard BBQ

MILWAUKEE - Marquette Athletics held its annual Backyard BBQ on Tuesday evening at MU's Central Mall, which was attended by over 1,000 individuals.

The event celebrated all 16 of MU's varsity athletics programs and kicked off the season-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of men's basketball at Marquette. Track and field head coach Bert Rogers and men's lacrosse coach Joe Amplo were each honored for winning BIG EAST Conference championships during the 2015-16 academic year.

Prior to the event, men's basketball held a reception at the Al McGuire Center to honor nearly 70 former players who spanned 75 years in program history.
