SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - Marquette University senior John Krzyszkowski capped off his incredible 2016 campaign with a sixth-place finish in the javelin at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships held in El Savador on Saturday.
Krzyszkowski represented Team Canada after taking third place at the Canadian Championships last weekend. The Mississauga, Ontario native nearly set another personal-best today, throwing for a distance of 69.94 meters (229 feet, 5 inches), which fell just shy of his career-best mark of 70.04 meters (229 feet, 9 inches) set at the Canadian Championships.
The three-time BIG EAST champion concludes his season after taking 15th at the NCAA West Region Preliminaries that saw him narrowly miss a top-12 spot and a trip to the NCAA Championships. Eager to reach that goal, Krzyszkowski is set to return to Marquette in 2016-17 for his final year of eligibility.
