
Allie Barber Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE-The league announced Tuesday morning that Marquette volleyball outside hitter Allie Barber is a member of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Barber was second in the BIG EAST in points with 5.19 per set and kills with 5.00 per set over the week of play, falling behind only conference offensive player of the week Jaali Winters from Creighton. She also hit .385, the tenth-highest mark for the conference.
This award marks Barber's fifth this season, as she is a three-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and was previously on the honor roll Sept. 12. On the season, she is averaging 4.89 kills per set, hitting at a .372 clip.
Marquette went 1-1 over the past week of play, losing at Villanova in five sets and beating Georgetown in straight sets. Barber had 25 kills against Villanova and added 15 at the Hoyas.
The Golden Eagles are now 14-6 on the season with an 8-1 conference record. They are next in action versus Xavier Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Central time.
