
Barber Tallies BIG EAST Honor Roll Nod

NEW YORK-The BIG EAST conference announced Tuesday morning that Marquette University volleyball outside hitter Allie Barber as a member of this week's Honor Roll.
The Cedarburg, Wis. native led the BIG EAST with 5.81 points and 5.62 kills per set during Marquette's 1-1 weekend. Barber collected a career-high 27 kills in the five-set loss to Butler.
This week's honor roll accolades mark Barber's sixth weekly award from the BIG EAST this season. She has been named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week three times and named to weekly honor roll on two other occasions, Sept. 12 and Oct. 17.
The Golden Eagles swept Xavier in their first match of the weekend, but dropped a five-set contest to Butler. Barber posted 18 kills at a .424 clip while facing the Musketeers.
The Golden Eagles currently sit in second place in the conference standings, behind Creighton, with a record of 15-7 and 9-2 in conference play. Marquette will start its four-game road trip in Queens, N.Y. against St. John's on Friday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. Central time.
