Golden Eagles Conclude Fall Play

SPOKANE, Wash.--The Marquette University women's tennis concluded fall competition on Sunday with the final day at the Gonzaga Invite in Spokane.
Paula Tormos Sanchez defeated the 'Zags Ashleigh Jacobs, 6-3, 6-1 as Natalija Popovic topped Portland's Anna Oberg, 6-4, 6-2. Fleur Eggink and Andrea Amortegui also earned singles victories with respective 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2 decisions.
In double action, Isabella Franks and Lesley Foe teamed up to defeat Gonzaga, 6-2, while Tormos Sanchez and Popovic earned a 7-5 win over Montana State.
Eggink and Amortegui took down their Montana State opponent, 7-5 and Foe and Franks returned to the court with a 6-2 win over their Montana State foes.
The Golden Eagles will be back on the court in January competing in the Indiana Winter Invite beginning Jan. 13.
