
Marquette Travels Across Town to Milwaukee on Sunday

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team is back in action on Sunday, Dec. 17 as the squad travels across town to meet Milwaukee at the Klotsche Center tipping at 4 p.m. Central time.
The game will air live on Fox Sports Wisconsin with Bob Brainerd and Maria Viall calling the action. Live stats are also available.
The Golden Eagles (5-4) have had a week break due to finals and are fresh off an 83-53 victory over Army on Sunday, with five players recording double-digits. Junior Natisha Heideman led the crew with 21 points as Allazia Blockton and Erika Davenport followed by chipping in with 12 points and six rebounds each. Amani Wilborn and Danielle King tallied 10 points.
Hiedeman enters Sunday's game needing just 22 points to reach 1,000 career points. The junior will become MU's 26th 1,000-point scorer when this milestone occurs. Blockton currently leads the Golden Eagles with 17.0 points per game and ranks fifth in the BIG EAST, while Hiedman is eighth with 15.4 points per game. Marquette rounds out three players ranking in the league's top-25 in scoring as Danielle King tallies 12.4 points per contest.
Milwaukee enters the game with an 8-2 record after topping Wisconsin, 67-64 in Madison on Thursday. Steph Kostowicz leads the Panthers in three categories, paced by 17.2 points per game. She also pulls down 8.5 rebounds per game and is dishing out 2.9 assists. Jenny Lindner and Bailey Farley also average double digits with 12.6 and 10.6 points, respectively.
Marquette holds a 26-20 lead all-time in the series, including a 19-3 edge since Milwaukee made the jump to the Division-I ranks. MU has won five straight in the series, with Milwaukee's last win coming on New Year's Eve at the Al in 2008.
The Golden Eagles will wrap non-conference play at No. 2 Notre Dame on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. CT.
