Marquette Closes Regular Season Sunday Against Villanova

MILWAUKEE--The BIG EAST Tournament seeding is set for Marquette, but the Golden Eagles have one regular season game remaining and will host Villanova, Sunday at 2 p.m. Central time at the Al McGuire Center.
The game will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Patrick Reed and Kyle Dlabay on the call.
Following the game the Golden Eagles will honor lone senior McKayla Yentz in a postgame ceremony.
With an 80-70 victory over Georgetown on Friday evening, Marquette (21-7, 12-5) has locked up the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament and will play a rematch against the Hoyas as they locked up the No. 6 seed. That game will be played at 2:30 CT on March 5 at the Al McGuire Center.
The win over the Hoyas was a complete team effort as Natisha Hiedeman led four players in double digits with 18 points, while Allazia Blockton poured in 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Yentz and Erika Davenport each tallied 14 points, as Davenport grabbed 11 boards for her 14th double-double of the season, which leads the BIG EAST.
Villanova fell, 77-50 at DePaul on Friday evening. The Wildcats (16-12, 11-6) were paced by Mary Gedaka with 12 points and eight rebounds. Adrianna Hahn leads the squad on the season with 13.8 points per game, while Alex Louin is posting 12.3 points each contest.
In the first meeting, which opened league play, the Golden Eagles topped Villanova, 77-71 and now MU is tied with the Wildcats, 9-9 in the all-time series.
