The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-4) opened its spring trip with a 5-0 victory over New Orleans Wednesday afternoon in San Antonio, Texas.
The Privateers fielded a lineup of just four players and Marquette was able to sweep all four singles matchups after claiming the doubles point.
Claiming straight-set wins for Marquette were Alvaro Verdu, Luke Smrek, Greg Anderson and Kristiyan Trukov. The doubles tandems of Verdu/Smrek and Trukov/Nick Dykema also earned victories at the top two spots.
Marquette returns to action Friday morning when the team takes on Incarnate Word at 1 p.m. CT.
