
Marquette Travels To Xavier, Butler This Weekend

The Marquette University men's tennis team completes its four-match road swing at Xavier on April 8 at and Butler on April 9, both matches will start at noon Central time.
The Golden Eagles (13-4) had a successful weekend as they downed UMKC and Creighton. The 5-2 victory over UMKC was a team effort, with gaining victories in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots and singles wins by Luke Smrek, Greg Anderson, Kristiyan Trukov and Brett Meyers.
The matchup with Xavier will feature a battle between the Dykema brothers. Nick is in his senior year with the Golden Eagles and Jack is a sophomore for the Musketeers.
MU most recently topped Creighton 4-3 on Sunday in Omaha. Alvaro Verdu tallied the winning point in a 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 final at the No. 1 singles position.
Following this weekend, Marquette will host its final two matches before the BIG EAST Tournament at Helfaer Stadium against DePaul and Youngstown State.
