Ambrosio and Tormos Earn All-Conference Accolades

NEW YORK--Silvia Ambrosio and Paula Tormos Sanchez of the Marquette University women's tennis team each earned All-BIG EAST accolades for the 2017 season, the league announced on Friday.
The duo spent much of the season as doubles partners, teaming up in the No. 1 position to an 11-2 record during the dual campaign, ranked as high as No. 62 in the ITA Rankings.
Ambrosio earned a 16-6 record in singles action, all at the No. 1 position, while Tormos was 16-5 overall, including a 7-3 stretch in her final 10 matches.
This is the first time that two Golden Eagles have earned all-conference honors since the 2013-14 season.
Marquette was 15-8 this season and reached the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinals before falling to Xavier.
