Szczepanek's Brace Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honors

NEW YORK - Marquette University redshirt senior Daniel Szczepanek has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll following his two-goal performance in a win over Seton Hall on Saturday.
Szczepanek's earned his second start of the season on Saturday, providing huge dividends in notching his second-career brace in a pivotal 4-2 win over Seton Hall.
The Grayslake, Illinois, native scored for the first time this season when he made it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Szczepanek added an insurance tally late, fighting off a defender and creating a breakaway opportunity that accounted for the fifth goal of his career in the 80th minute.
Szczepanek finished with match-best four shots with three of them landing on target. His efforts helped secure MU's first victory of the season.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 26, traveling across town for the 45th Annual Milwaukee Cup vs. UW-Milwaukee at 7:05 p.m. Central time.
