The Marquette University men's tennis team will host East Tennessee State in their 2018 dual season home opener on Thurs. Feb. 1.
Opening serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles (0-1) began their dual campaign at Iowa this past weekend, where the Hawkeyes swept Marquette, 7-0.
"We are looking forward to getting back on the court and excited about playing at home," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "ETSU is a very good program with postseason success and we will have to be ready to compete at a high level from the start."
East Tennessee State (2-1) is going into its fourth dual competition of the season with only one loss to then-No. 20 Florida State. ETSU is led by Miguel Este and Sergi Fontcuberta at doubles with a 3-0 record. Junior Fontcuberta also paves the way in singles with a team-best record of 2-0.
As Marquette welcomes the Buccaneers, the team will host four other dual competitors before hitting the road again. The Golden Eagles will see Valparaiso, UIC, UW-Green Bay and NIU at the Helfaer Stadium.
Marquette will host a National Marquette Day match against Valparaiso on Sat. Feb 3 at 2 p.m. CT.
