Marquette Concludes Play at ITA Midwest Regional

Natalija Popovic and Fleur Eggink represent MU in main draw
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Marquette University women's tennis team concluded play at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted at Michigan this past weekend.
Natalija Popovic represented the Golden Eagles in the full 64-person main draw, falling to Bowling Green's Paula Comella (6-3, 6-4). Fleur Eggink also qualified for the main draw after giving Marquette a win over Michigan State, but fell to Anna Makarova of Wisconsin (6-2, 6-7, 6-1).
Three duos competed for Marquette in doubles action, with Popovic and Eggink tallying a first-round win over Detroit while Lesley Foe and Elisabeth Desmarais paired up to nab a win over Youngstown State before both tandems dropped their next match.
Marquette will return to action Nov. 2-4 at Louisville.
