Marquette Heads To Pair Of Weekend Events

MU travels to Illinois State and Minnesota
The Marquette University men's tennis team will split between neighboring Illinois and Minnesota for the Redbird Invitational and the Minnesota Gopher Invitational from Friday, Nov. 2 – Sunday, Nov. 4.
The Redbird Invitational is hosted by Illinois State and marks the third annual edition of the event. Marquette will send Julian Robinson, Eddie Griesedieck, Alex Warstler and Shaddy Khalafallah to compete.
Luke Smrek, Luis Heredia Gomez, Greg Anderson and Fran San Andres will represent the Golden Eagles in Minneapolis at the Gopher Invitational. The 11-team field consists of Dartmouth, Denver, DePaul, Drake, Marquette, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern Notre Dame, Utah and Wisconsin.
Most recently, the Golden Eagles were in action at the ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by Notre Dame. Heredia Gomez posted a trio of victories in the qualifying bracket to earn a spot in the main drawn before falling to David Pata of Northern Illinois.
Marquette finishes out the fall slate at the Texas Fall Invitational from Nov. 9-11 in Austin, Texas.
