Marquette Wraps Up Fall Campaign At Longhorn Invite

Heredia Gomez/Verdu fall in title match
The Marquette University men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of its 2018-19 campaign with action at the Longhorn Invitational this past weekend, hosted by the University of Texas.
Senior Alvaro Verdu, juniors Brett Meyers and Brandon Shanklin and sophomore Luis Heredia Gomez competed in singles and doubles action in Austin, Texas.
The weekend's action was highlighted by a run to the championship match in the Flight D doubles draw by Heredia Gomez and Verdu. The duo picked up a pair of victories, before falling 8-5 to its opponent from Liberty.
Heredia Gomez also claimed a pair of singles wins, as did Meyers in the Flight B bracket.
Marquette will return to action on January 19, 2019 when the team opens dual match action at Iowa.
