Marquette Volleyball Earns No. 14 NCAA National Seed

The Golden Eagles will host High Point on Friday
MILWAUKEE --Â The Marquette University women's volleyball team has earned a No. 14 national seed in the 2018 NCAA Championship, which will mark its eighth consecutive post season appearance as the bracket was revealed on Sunday evening.

The Golden Eagles (26-6) will host High Point University on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. CT with Cincinnati and Illinois State facing each other at 4:30 p.m. CT at the Al McGuire Center in first round action. The winner of each contest will advance to the second round, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. CT.

"I am thrilled for this team and their efforts through the course of the season to now have the opportunity to host," head coach Ryan Theis said. "We hope our Milwaukee volleyball community and the Marquette students come out to create a great environment at the Al. After seven straight NCAA Tournament appearances it is fantastic that we enter the eighth as a national seeded team. It is a terrific honor and achievement for our program."

MU is one of two BIG EAST programs to advance to the NCAA Tournament this season along with BIG EAST regular season and tournament champion Creighton who was awarded the No. 9 national seed.
