Quartet of players finishes strong at Gopher Invite
The Marquette University men's tennis team wrapped up play at a pair of events Sunday afternoon, moving closer to the conclusion of the fall portion of its 2018-19 campaign.
The Golden Eagles put the finishing touches on an impressive weekend at the Gopher Invitational with multiple singles and doubles victories. The field included some of the top teams in the region and senior Greg Anderson, juniors Brandon Shanklin and Brett Meyers and freshman Fran San Andres each had strong performances.
A quartet of players also competed in the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State. Sophomore Julian Robinson advanced to the quarterfinals of the Flight B draw and junior Alexander Warstler fell in the championship match of the Flight D bracket.
MU will participate in the Texas Fall Invitational Nov. 9-11 to conclude the fall schedule.
