CULVER CITY, Calif. – Senior goalkeeper Luis Barraza has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week following his superb BIG EAST quarterfinal performance against Xavier on Saturday.

Barraza collects his first national team honor after making six saves, including a game-saving, finger-tip diving deflection in the 94th minute and a decisive final round foot save that helped Marquette prevail past Xavier in penalties.
The Santa Teresa, New Mexico, native was recently named the BIG EAST's Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the league in regular season save percentage (.885), while ranking second in saves per game (5.75) and third in goals against average (0.77) and shutouts (3).

His play during the year led Marquette to the No. 4 seed in the league tournament and, after advancing past Xavier in Saturday's quarterfinal, the Golden Eagles will take on top-seeded and 14th-ranked Creighton on the road on Wednesday.

Wednesday's semifinal match will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the FOX Sports app. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Central time.
