MILWAUKEE - Three Golden Eagles notched hat tricks as the Marquette University women's lacrosse team prevailed, 15-10, over visiting Kennesaw State on Sunday.

Marquette (2-2) was led by senior Charlotte McGuire, who tied a career-high with four goals scored on six shots. The Northfield, Illinois, native recorded a first-half half trick to help spot the Golden Eagles an 8-6 halftime lead.

Fellow senior Riley Hill and junior Grace Gabriel also tallied hat tricks in the win. Hill continued a strong weekend performance, finishing with five goals and five assists in the two victories for MU, while Gabriel totaled nine goals in both games.
Senior Allison Lane once again filled the stat sheet with two goals, two assists, five ground balls, five caused turnovers and four draw controls. Sophomore Megan Menzuber and freshman Caroline Steller added a goal each to help Marquette as well.
Kennesaw State was led by Siena Gore, who scored four goals and added six draw controls. The Owls, who had cut the halftime deficit to just two goals, were unable to score for the first 17-plus minutes of the second half. By then, the Golden Eagles had built a 12-6 advantage and never looked back.
Marquette boasted solid play from their goalies as starter Julianna Horning and freshman Sophia Leva split time evenly and combined for nine saves in the win.
The Golden Eagles are back in action inside the Valley Dome on Sunday, Feb. 25, against Stetson. First draw is scheduled for 12 p.m. Central time.
